Centre of Natural Sciences of Galceti

The Centre of Natural Sciences of Galceti is a multifunctional structure located in the Natural Protected Area of Monteferrato consisting of a museum of natural science with 750 m2 of exhibition rooms, and an environmental park of 80,000 m2 with loose, under care and in rehabilitation animals. 
During the year the museum organizes numerous scientific and educational activities with the aim of enhancing, familiarizing and turn attention on the rich and interesting museum heritage. The museum is in the Franciscan Monastery of Galceti and has a wide collection of birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, insects, seashells, minerals, rocks, and herbals. A sector is dedicated to prehistory, with finds of the Mousterian Station and Industry of Galceti.
A space is dedicated to the geological, floristic, historical and environmental peculiarities of the Protected Area of Monteferrato, while air-conditioned rooms host many animals that are victims of exotic animal trade: boas, pythons, iguanas, monitor lizards, parrots. Inside the Centre there are the Astronomical Observatory and the Planetarium that permit interesting educational observations held by experts.
