Pinot nero Villa di Bagnolo

In the most beautiful part of the countryside of Montemurlo, you meet the sun-drenched vineyards from which Pinot Nero Villa di Bagnolo is produced, an intense wine, with a violet color, with fruit flavors. It is a wine of superior quality, recently produced that obtained a great success.
The case played a fundamental role in the history of Pinot Nero Tenuta di Bagnolo, in fact in 1970 when the Marquis Vittorio Pancrazi wanted to re-plant the vineyards of the Bagnolo farm, by mistake the nurseryman provided the Pinot Nero, instead of the traditional Sangiovese grown in these areas. From that error came a splendid wine of deep ruby color, with dark purple reflections, a wide and intense bouquet, of great elegance and complexity, with dominant notes of wild berry and vanilla jam, and with nuances flavors of licorice root, white truffle and aromatic wood. Full, warm, smooth up to velvet but firmly, fruity and harmonious, with aristocratic blackcurrant background, toasted hazelnut and oak that lingers for a long time in the mouth. The vineyards are planted on land located at the foot of Monteferrato (Bagnolo, Po) at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The climate is of low hills, cool and well ventilated even in summer, with an important temperature range. The soil is of volcanic origin (the Monteferrato is an extinct volcano), clay-schistose, of medium texture and rich in stones and minerals, in particular iron; peculiar is the presence of serpentine (green marble); excellent is the humidity level given by the presence of water a few meters from the ground.
