Yuri Romagnoli - The factory with pedals

Once you are out of the Prato Porta al Serraglio Station, head towards Piazza del Duomo and continue on the right following Via Cavallotti for a very short stretch, until you reach the underpass that connects Piazza Ciardi to Via del Serraglio. Above us the railroad tracks and below a beautiful mural by the artist Yuri Romagnoli, active in many other Italian cities such as Palermo.
The young street artist wanted to represent on both walls of the underpass an illustrated story of the textile tradition protagonist of the development of the Prato industrial district: "For this project I was inspired by the important history of the textile industry of the city of Prato - explains Yuri Romagnoli - I wanted to mix the main theme of all my street art works, the bicycle, with this historical and typical vision of the city. I have created a project in which I imagine a textile factory powered by pedal power. Modified bikes that create clean energy and operate the looms and the various equipment for the packaging of clothes. A metaphor of the workforce that makes the city’s economy grow".
