Church of San Domenico
The construction of the church, started in the last decades of the thirteenth century was finished in 1316. The facade, remained unfinished, shows the characteristic alberese and serpentine bichromy. The left-hand side has high mullioned windows closed by a large portal attributable to Giovanni Pisano and flanked by a row of sepulchral arks that resemble the ones of the church of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. The apse part is dominated by a thirteenth century bell-tower. Externally it maintains its Gothic aspect while the interior of the building has a completely different aspect as it is completely rebuilt, according to the design of Baccio del Bianco, after the fire of 1647.
