Hills’ festival
The Festival delle Colline (Hills’ festival) is perhaps one of the oldest music festivals in the province of Prato. Thirty-eight editions with a vocation: creating an event that privileges original and creative proposals, combining them with enchanting places in the area of Prato, from the rolling hills of Poggio a Caiano, where the festival was born, to the spectacular Carmignano fortress, to the art sites of the textile city.
It takes place in July proposing a handful of appointments to be trusted even without knowing the involved artists: always very different from each other, always great musical discoveries. Over the years, the Festival delle Colline has confirmed itself as a real antenna that captures and identifies new trends. In the past, the stage of the Prato festival trod today internationally renowned artists: Bombino, Esperanza Spalding, Ramin Bahrami, Fatoumata Diawara, Tigran Hamasyan, to name a few.
It is not just a simple event. It has now become a community of curious in the field of music. To draw the ranks of the festival are the Municipality of Poggio a Caiano and the Tuscany Region, which is flanked by the Municipalities of Prato and Carmignano and the Center for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci.
Try to take part in a concert at the Carmignano fortress, live the atmosphere that melodies and panorama together can create in a warm summer evening to understand the magic and the particularity that this festival can create.
