Via Genova Court

A court that once housed the typical mills of Prato textile production has slowly transformed into a cultural center with a garden. In via Genova 17 now there are exhibition spaces and craft workshops, clubs and art galleries. From the street you can directly enter the court and you are in front of a square dotted with trees, flower boxes, vegetables and vintage furniture. All around open the doors of Studio Corte 17, Tribeca Factory, Artformes, Sixteen, Spazio Materia and also Capanno 17, for years one of the city's night landmarks.
It has not always been this way. The initiative was by Chiara Bettazzi of Studio Corte 17 about ten years ago. "Capanno Blackout" and the Tribeca Factory of Lello Scognamiglio followed closely. Studio Corte 17 carries on with success "Tuscan Art Industry", a project that has reached the third edition that mixes contemporary art and enhancement of the industrial archeology of Prato. Tribeca instead is one of the flagships of vintage furniture in the city. And then, more recently, to animate the court came the ArtForms art gallery, the programming dedicated to the sound experimentation by Spazio Materia. Here is also housed the “Sedici” group of photographers. All together, these realities transform the life of the court in via Genova into a forge of events.
